Family Law Appellate Consulting

Working Alongside Trial Counsel

to Anticipate Issues Before an Appeal.

Why it Works

It is never too early to anticipate an appeal.

A family law case can be won or lost, not at the trial court level,

but on appeal. The success of an appeal hinges, in large part, on preparations made at the trial court level. Anticipating how to strengthen the record for issues that may be taken up on appeal

requires the expertise and experience of a seasoned appellate

practitioner consulting with the trial team. Thinking about the

appeal begins at the trial level.

How it Works

1

I work with trial counsel to gauge the scope of work needed.

2

I review the case and any pertinent documents to determine

key issues that may arise during an appeal.

3

I make recommendations to strengthen your position if your

case has potential to be appealed.

Who I am

For over 30 years, I have represented clients in Family Law cases

before the California Courts of Appeal and California Supreme Court. Of those years, 20 have been as a Certified Appellate Specialist, certified by the California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization. As a legal entrepreneur, I have been deeply involved in every facet of my cases at my law offices. I am often retained as a consultant by trial counsel whenever an appeal is anticipated. I enjoy legal writing, and I believe that clarity and well-constructed arguments produce the best results.

If you would like to anticipate and plan for issues that give rise to an appeal, you will be best served by consulting with an experienced appellate attorney. You are welcome to contact my law office to speak with me or to make an appointment regarding you or your client’s matter.
